Community Colleges
llinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC) is the primary educational institution offering post-secondary education and training throughout the SAIL region. IECC is one of only two multi-college districts in the state of Illinois with four community colleges: Frontier Community College in Fairfield, IL; Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, IL; Olney College in Olney, IL; and Wabash Valley College in Mt. Carmel, IL. The IECC District covers over 3,000 square miles serving 24,000 students ranging in age from 17 to 80 with a variety of educational needs and desires. All four Illinois Eastern Colleges are accredited by the State of Illinois (the Illinois Community College Board and the Illinois Board of Higher Education), as well as the North Central Association, which is a national accrediting association for higher education. The IECC District is one of 39 community college districts in the state of Illinois and has the third lowest tuition rate in the state. Each college offers a variety of programs including AA and AS transfer degrees, occupational degrees and certificates that are industry-specific and designed to lead directly to employment, adult basic education/adult secondary/GED education, workplace literacy, and business and industry training.

Industrial Training Programs
Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC) administers the Business and Industry Training Center, the Small Business Development Center, and the Illinois Employment and Training Center to work directly with business and industry throughout the District. The Business and Industry Training Center is designated as an ACT Work Keys Testing Center and has a certified Job Profiler who works with business and industry, profiling or accessing individual job skills and competencies. The Center provides training programs, services, and trainers offering a variety of training such as computer applications, leadership, team building, LEAN Manufacturing, etc. The Center is also instrumental in the collaboration with faculty and industry in the redesign of curriculum that better meets industry need. The Olney Central College Industrial Maintenance Program is a three-level certificate program (stepladder approach) that leads to the Associate in Applied Science (AAS) Degree. It is taught on-site, as well as via Internet, to a number of businesses and industries throughout the District.
The Small Business Development Center is a member of the State and Federal Small Business Administration and provides advice, counseling, and budget management for small business start-ups or existing small businesses. The Center also offers a variety of workshops and seminars to small businesses such as QuickBooks, OSHA training for small business, drug-free workplace, etc.
The Illinois Employment and Training Center provides programs and services to dislocated workers, and unemployed and underemployed individuals. The Center provides a computer-based state and national job bank, resume writing and interviewing skills classes, program and course advisement, and referral services. On-site, active partners of the Center include the Illinois Department of Employment Securities, Welfare-to-Work-Program, and the local workforce investment board (WIB/WIA) staff. The Center is also the home of the Career Clothing Closet, which offers free work/interviewing clothing for men and women.
