A "Quality of Labor" survey was recently conducted, which covered 51% of the manufacturing employees in the Southeastern Alliance of Illinois eight county region. The survey found that:
The average length of employment per employee is 8.9 years
The average age of employee is 39 years
Employees average 12.5 years of education
Production pay ranged from $6.00/hr. to $23.35/hr
Absenteeism was reported to be 4.75% (annualized)
The average hourly starting wage in the nine county Southeastern Alliance of Illinois region is $9.34 per hour. Approximately 9% of the labor force is unionized.
